17-year-old loses life in motorcycle accident

SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD John Tan Yong Sheng died in hospital on Monday morning after his motorcycle collided with a taxi on Sunday afternoon.
His female pillion rider remains in hospital with head injuries.
The two were travelling along Marsiling Road towards Riverside at 12.10pm on Sunday when their vehicle hit rear of a taxi which was turning into a petrol station.
John's father, Mr Tan Koon Sia, 56, said the last time he had seen John was about four months ago when John visited him in hospital while he was recuperating from a minor liver operation.
He added that he had never got to spend much time with his son who had 'always been rebellious' and had not spent much time at home.
But on Monday, Mr Tan did see his son, this time at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, before he died of the serious head injuries he had suffered in the accident.
